The final day’s play at the Cognizant Classic was suspended due to dangerous weather conditions in the area. The tournament, which is in its final round at the PGA National’s Champion Course in Palm Beaches, Florida, had to stop play at 12:50 pm ET. This caused the latter half of the field, including the joint leaders Shane Lowry, David Skinns, and Austin Eckroat, to be unable to tee off.
The weather included severe thunderstorms with lightning, which led to the suspension of play. The area also experienced a heavy downpour of rain that flooded greens and fairways, making the course unplayable. To top it off, there was a tornado warning for Palm Beach County, although not specifically for the Palm Beach Gardens area where the tournament was being held. These conditions prompted officials to suspend the tournament temporarily and ask all spectators to exit the premises for their safety.
The new tee-off times have not been declared yet, and there is a possibility that the tournament may finish on Monday
