8 Tips For Playing Golf Safely During COVID-19

Golf courses are starting to reopen and we need to follow appropriate social distancing rules. Here are a few tips to help you stay safe on the golf course.

1. Bring More Tees and Balls
Sometimes we borrow tees and balls from a playing partner or trying to find one lying around. Now is not the time to do be sharing or picking up others things. Make sure you bring extra to last your round.

2. Consider a Push Cart or a Carry Bag
We may be restricted to one person per golf cart especially if you’re not from the same family. Because of this, golf carts are getting snatched up quicker. If you have a heavy bag, consider investing in a collapsible push cart or getting a lighter bag.

3. Bring Water
A lot of water fountains will be now be closed. Make sure to bring your own supply of water to stay hydrated through your round.

4. Bunkers Reimagined
You probably never hit a bunker, but when you do, there won’t be a rake lying around. You’ll need to find another way to smooth out the sand. Consider carrying a mini-rake with you. Take a look on Amazon if you don’t have one. It fits nicely in your bag!

5. Bring a Mask
Depending on the course, they may want you to wear a mask around the pro shop. Just be mindful that this may be the case when your in areas where you need to interact with staff.

6. Clean Your Hands Often
If you can find them in the store, bring along some hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes. They may don’t take up much room in your bag and you never know when you’ll need one.

7. Bring a Snack
A lot of courses are still offering food and beverage, but they may have limited menus or take-out only. Beverage carts might be hard to find too. Make sure you support your local establishment but you might want to bring a little something to be prepared.

8. Keep your Distance
We must maintain at least six feet of distance between ourselves. Don’t step up to the tee box until your partner has stepped away. Keeping distance on the fairway is easy but just be mindful when in closer the quarters. Respect the signage put in place by the course and make sure to follow their guidelines.
